Senior Manager, SCANIT Operations
North America (Remote, with travel)
Integrated Projects (IPX) is a post-seed stage spatial-intelligence company on a mission to improve the world's buildings by bringing them online—accurately. We turn building scans into accurate BIM & CAD files used by AEC and real-estate teams across North America and Europe.
IPX combines laser scanning services, BIM modeling, and machine learning to deliver a streamlined way for corporate operators, architects, and builders to get as-builts at scale. We support customers through on-demand, project-based engagements while expanding into enterprise subscription programs.
SCANIT is IPX's laser scanning service. We deploy vetted scanning teams across North America—and increasingly globally—to capture high-quality point clouds using modern SLAM-based and terrestrial scanning technologies. SCANIT delivers clean, BIM-ready data that powers IPX's modeling and automation workflows and sets the foundation for successful project delivery.
Our Mission
Digitize the built world with construction-grade accuracy so owners, designers, and operators can make faster, smarter, lower-risk decisions—at portfolio scale.
We are hiring a Senior Manager, SCANIT Operations to own and operate this business.
This role serves as the general manager of SCANIT, responsible for building the operating model, managing execution, and setting the business up to scale nationally and internationally. You will design repeatable processes, lead day-to-day operations, manage client and partner relationships, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all scan projects.
This is a builder role for someone who enjoys creating structure, proactively managing work, and turning complex operations into reliable systems.
Own SCANIT End-to-End
•Act as the operational owner of SCANIT with an owner's mindset and clear accountability
•Pre-sales & scoping support for solutions team
•Lead all SCANIT operations: staffing, mobilization, field capture, QA/QC, and BIM handoff
•Proactively manage active projects to ensure timelines, quality, and expectations are met
•Communicate clearly and consistently with clients and scanning partners throughout project lifecycles
•Recommend LiDAR modality and equipment, scan density, coverage, and workflows, when and how survey control should be implemented
Build and Manage the SCANIT Network
•Build, scale, and manage a national—and ultimately international—network of scanning partners and managers
•Design and run repeatable processes to interview, vet, onboard, certify, train, and support scan technicians
•Balance contractor scale with a small in-house team for quality control, standards, and R&D
•Create redundancy across regions to avoid single points of failure
Design and Enforce Operating Processes
•Build and maintain clear SOPs for technician onboarding and certification, hardware deployment and maintenance, field capture standards, QA/QC and BIM handoff
•Continuously improve processes based on performance data, client feedback, and field learnings
•Build out processes for accurate technical scoping before contract close
•Drive fewer surprises leading up to scans and on site (controls, access, density, coverage, tolerances)
•Move SCANIT from ad-hoc execution to a durable, scalable operating system
Own Capture Quality and Standards
•Define and enforce capture standards that meet BIM accuracy requirements
•Oversee deployment and use of scanning technologies (including SLAM-based and terrestrial systems)
•Ensure consistent, BIM-ready point cloud quality across partners, regions, and projects
Partner Across IPX
•Work closely with BIM Operations to align scan quality with modeling needs and reduce rework
•Improve scan-to-BIM turnaround times through better coordination and standards
•Collaborate with Product, Automation, and Commercial teams to support enterprise and portfolio-wide programs
•Scanning workflows aligned to BIM deliverables and customer specs
•Treat SCANIT as a single, integrated BIM delivery system
What Success Looks Like
•SCANIT operates as a repeatable, scalable system, not a hero-driven service
•Reliable, on-time mobilization across regions and projects
•Consistently high-quality, BIM-ready point clouds with minimal re-scans
•Predictable and improving scan-to-BIM delivery timelines
•Clear, proactive communication with clients and partners
•A resilient network of SCANIT partners and managers that supports national and global delivery
Who You Are
•An operator with an owner's mindset who takes accountability for outcomes
•Experienced building and scaling field operations, distributed teams, or service networks
•Highly systems-oriented and comfortable designing processes from scratch
•Proactive, organized, and clear in communication with clients, partners, and internal teams
•Calm under pressure and effective in complex, fast-moving environments
•Technology operator – you understand what it means to work at a technology company, not just a services business
•Equally comfortable with field operations (hardware, crews, job sites) and operating alongside product, engineering, and automation teams
Need to Have
•Deep hands-on LiDAR reality capture experience in AEC
•Proven scan-to-BIM understanding (what BIM teams actually need, not theory)
•Strong knowledge of survey control principles and application
•Experience processing, registering, and QA/QC'ing point clouds
•Ability to diagnose and fix technical issues independently
•Comfort explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
Compensation & Benefits
•Competitive base salary + equity (we want owners with a stake in our mission)
•Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
•Unlimited paid time off
•Hardware & home office stipend; professional development budget
•Flexible work with NYC hub access for in-person collaboration
If you enjoy building systems, proactively owning execution, and turning operational complexity into clarity, we'd love to talk.
